Absurdia

Contemporary Ballet

The performance gives insight into the peculiar relations of the inhabitants of Absurdia, an imaginary European fairy-tale country. Its citizens, the Absurds, find difficulties and annoyance even in the simplest everyday things, and even though all they want is to find happiness, it seems an impossible mission for them. The characters of the story are ordinary citizens in whose desires everything is easy and clear but their reality is full of disappointment, complicated inhibitions and repression. Their stories told through dancing are about power, demolished desires, pettiness and not sticking together and about many other issues we are very familiar with. The piece reflects on the life situations and social problems surrounding us with an ironic tone and charming humor.
